RALPH'S COMIC CORNER
COMIC BOOKS MANIA

By: Aaron Cornelius
The Hyper Hero Man

Happy Halloween all you comic book fans out there from your friends at RALPH'S COMIC CORNER! This year we have plenty of new and chilling comics for you to read after you finish eating all you're trick or treat candies!

Our first Chilling tale can be found in the pages of VINCENT PRICE PRESENTS! Published by Bluewater Productions, this comic book has 32 pages of story and art narrated by the master of mystery and suspense Vincent Price! He will make you believe that the Android is the opposite of the vampire, walk a cybernetic dog, and fill your dreams with terror!

Next up on our ghoulish quest for all hallows reading is the company wide crossover event from DC comics, BLACKEST NIGHT! The Green Lanterns are in peril! The dark energies of the universe are bringing the dead to life across the cosmos! What will Hal Jordan Green Lantern of Earth do when his dead friends rise from their graves? The tone of the story is much like Steven King's Pet Cemetery, of course, you want your dead friends to be alive but at what cost would you go to see them?

Speaking of Steven King, Marvel comics have published some amazing comic book adaptations of his novels THE DARK TOWER, and THE STAND! They can be purchased in comic book form or as graphic novels.

On the odder end of the comic spectrum is the Image comic book CHEW! As stated from the comic book: Tony Chu is a cop with a secret - a weird secret. Tony Chu is Cibopathic, which means he gets psychic impressions from whatever he eats. It also means he's a heck of a detective, as long as he doesn't mind nibbling on the corpse of a murder victim to figure out whodunit and why. It's a dirty job, and Tony has to eat terrible things in the name of justice. And if that wasn't bad enough, the government has figured out Tony Chu's secret. They have plans for him whether he likes it or not.

House of Mystery Halloween Annual #1 is sure to be a good spooky hit this year! Jam-packed with art by the likes of Luca Rossi, Giuseppe Camuncoli, Amy Reeder Hadley, Mark Buckingham & Kevin Nowlan, and Mike Allred, plus more!

This is but a taste of all the great Halloween comics to come out this year. Be sure to stop by Ralph's Comic Corner to find a comic that suits you this Halloween!

Town Biz 101 is looking forward to informing you, the public, about more of Ventura's events. The City of Ventura maintains an active Department of Culture Affairs which produces several events annually including two "Artwalks" and two Street Fairs. Historically, the Street Fairs are held on the 4th of July and the 1st Sunday of December. There is noise about cancelling the December Street Festival due to lack of funding.
