BEAUTY CAMPBELL STYLE
Brazilian Gloss Keratin Hair Treatment

Our accessories are what make us feel beautiful on most days. Whether it's that perfect pair of shoes, the most amazing handbag, or that sparkly necklace that just makes you smile; our accessories define who we are. Sometimes we can feel limited in our selections since there are only so many items on the market or in our budget.
However, I have always told my clients and friends that the one accessory we have complete and total control over is our hair. Think about it, its the only thing that we can cut, color, style, or grow to our exact liking. This is usually true for most people in any situation. Yet, sometimes there are the times when we all want what we can't have. Those with curly hair want it straighter and those with straight hair want it curlier. Yet, one thing all can agree on whether straight or curly is that regardless of our styles, frizz ruins everything! Until now...The Brazilian Gloss is here and waiting to eliminate your frizz!
The Brazilian Gloss keratin hair treatment originated in Brazil and is often referred to as "Escova Progressiva" or the "Progressive Blow-Dry." It works with curly, wavy, frizzy and even damaged hair and will not affect the color of your hair whether it be natural or colored. It actually will help lock in your color and help to straighten your hair with keratin, panthenol, and vitamins to remove frizz giving you smooth and shiny hair everyday for up to 12 weeks! Unlike other similar yet harsher treatments, it is a straightening product that smoothes hair with ingredients that are formaldehyde free. It only takes about 90 minutes from start to finish. Also, you do not have to wait three days to wash or rinse your hair. The Brazilian Gloss is an instant formula with no processing time and only takes 90 minutes from start to finish.
Keratin, being the main ingredient, is very important as it is also the main component of hair itself. Keratin is a protein which is formed by the combination of various amino acids. When keratin is lost through heat of chemical damage, your hair becomes damaged, causing frizz. Although no treatment to your hair will re-create the hair fiber, it will fill in the damaged area. It is this filling of the damaged hair shaft that makes your hair feel silky again. As the Brazilian gloss helps to repair your hair when it straightens: every time you get the treatment performed on your hair, your hair will appear silkier, smoother and straighter.
This is a treatment that would be good for anyone that wants to take back the control over their greatest accessory - their hair. Reduce frizz! Add shine! Rock your hair!

HEATH CAMPBELL STYLE Healthy Teeth, Healthy Life
By: Mary Campbell
In recent talks with my friend Miki, RDA, or Registered Dental Assistant, I was informed me that there are three major reasons to take care of your teeth.
- Money. It takes a lot more money to fix and replace teeth than it does to get regular check-ups and home care.
- Looks. The loss of teeth makes one feel less attractive and also affects your diet. Without teeth, there is no chewing surface.
- Heart Health. This is the most important of the three. Your mouth is the gateway to the rest of your body and your teeth are a vital organ of the body. When there is infection in the mouth, it travels all through the body and can directly cause heart disease.
With all these things in mind, the main focus of healthy teeth is to prevent gum disease with regular check-ups and at-home care. Gum disease is a three-stage disease starting with gingivitis, then periodontitis, and finally advanced periodontitis.
Gingivitis is when the gums are mildly sore, red, puffy, and may bleed when brushed. Periodontitis is when the gums begin to pull away from the teeth letting plaque move toward the root and the bone structure. Advanced periodontitis is when the supporting fibers and bone of the tooth are destroyed and gone, at this point the teeth may need to be removed.
One way to ensure you are preventing gum disease is by talking to your dental hygienist and getting regular check-ups and cleanings. This is extremely important as your hygienist can spot any problem areas to focus on and give your dentist proper information on your treatments if needed.
The best way to prevent gum disease is proper at-home care along with your regular check-ups. One more time, the BEST way to prevent gum disease is PROPER at-home care along with your regular check-ups. Proper at-home care consists of brushing properly twice daily with an ADA-accepted fluoride toothpaste and flossing once daily preferably at night.
Tips for proper brushing and flossing:
- Place the toothbrush at a 45-degree angle and use a gentle scrubbing or massaging motion for outer surface of teeth and along the gum-line.
- Use the same technique for the inner surfaces (tongue side) of the teeth.
Use the flat, all bristle part of the brush for the chewing surfaces and the backs of front teeth.
- Remember to brush your tongue as well to reduce bacteria that cause bad breath.
- Floss with about 18 inches of floss. Wind most of it around one middle finger and the rest around the other middle finger as you will unwind and wind as you use it.
- Hold floss tightly between thumbs and forefingers with about an inch of floss and gently slide it between teeth. When floss reaches gum-line, curve it into a C-shape around one tooth and gently rub down the side of the tooth.
Remember, health teeth saves money, adds to your already good looks and keeps you all around healthier. So keep those pearly whites just that - pearly white!
