Ventura Idol historically has proven to be extremely entertaining and invigorating in a friendly-family-fun-loving atmosphere for the vocalists participating, encouraging judges, and non-vocal customers. Ventura Idol is strung out over several weeks of which evolves around several types of friendly competitions such as the "Wheel Of Death". The wheel is made of a random mix of songs, i.e., difficult songs, fun songs, silly songs, 80's songs, nursery songs, memorable songs, loving songs, metal, Raggae songs and, of course, more. The wheel decides the fate of the musical score the vocalist is going to sing and compete with on "Wheel Of Death" night.

Contestants have an opportunity to win a 1st place prize of $500 cash, $200 valued prize for 2nd place, and a 3rd place prize worth $100. Billy O's is adding new this year to Ventura Idol nightly prizes and special guests who include performances by past years' dynamite winners.
